Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies

Some people feel everything tastes better with bacon. I am not one of those people, but I do think these are delicious and a nice sweet-and-salty variation on the standard chocolate chip.

8 ounces of bacon, plus grease

2 sticks butter

1-1/2 cups brown sugar

2 eggs

2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

handfuls of chocolate chips (to taste)

Make Em:

Cook the bacon until it’s crispy, then crumble. Pour 1/4 cup of the bacon grease (cooled a bit) into a mixing bowl with the butter and brown sugar. Mix until creamy and light in color, 5-10 minutes. Add eggs one by one. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then fold into dough. Mix in crumbled bacon and chocolate chips. Let sit in the fridge for a few hours so flavors can mix. Bake in an oven at 350 for 8-12 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool. Enjoy!

They’re not for everyone, but they’re worth trying, for sure!

The secret ingredient!

Is nothing scared? This is a chocolate chip cookie, girlie, from the halls of montezuma and the pony express and mount rushmore, not some nouveau riche cousine. Elvis would be proud. Did you try deep frying them? How about brownies with palm hearts and lentils?
America is in peril from Congress and the Middle East and you’re putting bacon in chocolate chip cookies?
